A benefit for the Bob Moog Foundation’s hallmark educational project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool
With your help, we’re sparking the creativity of the next generation with the continuing impact of Bob’s work, and entertaining our supporters with a candlelight dinner, silent auction, and all-star live music from the Ignite Gala house band.
Our 2014 Ignite House Band includes CJ Vanston (Prince, Tina Turner, Toto, Joe Cocker, Spinal Tap) and Steve Porcaro (Toto) on keyboards, Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Toto) on bass, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan) on guitar, Joe Pusateri (John Lee Hooker, John Entwistle, The Muppets’ “Animal”) on drums, and Rob Giles (Circa Zero, The Rescues) on vocals, as well as other surprise guests.
In addition to an intimate dinner the event also includes a silent auction of signed and unsigned musical instruments, travel opportunities and more. Donors include Dave Smith Instruments, Yamaha, Line 6, Synthology, Sennheiser, PreSonus, JBL Professional, Blue Microphones, Novation, and Shure.
Visitors can also take in the exclusive Innovator’s Corner, where new inventions in music technology will be revealed, and view classic Moog and other synthesizers from Boddicker’s own private collection. The Innovator’s Corner will include groundbreaking new instruments and technologies like the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer as seen in Guitar Player Magazine, Gizmodo and Synthtopia.
We are creating tomorrow’s innovators and problem-solvers
Visitors to the Ignite Gala will be helping to support the Foundation’s plans to expand Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool nationwide, including new initiatives in Southern California.
From Ignite House Band musical director CJ Vanston: “It is a tremendous honor for me and the band to pay tribute to Bob Moog’s pioneering legacy by performing at this event for the Bob Moog Foundation. This is a way for us to give back to a man whose innovations have brought so much to contemporary music.”
From our executive director, Michelle Moog-Koussa: “We’ve had interest from all over the country about Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool. It’s an innovative, STEAM-based curriculum that resonates with teachers and school districts who recognize the importance of integrating arts and science education. Through Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, we inspire children to think more creatively by offering them multi-sensory approaches to scientific discovery. We are creating tomorrow’s innovators and problem-solvers.”
