Volunteer

Volunteering for the Bob Moog Foundation is fun and our volunteers are ROCKSTARS! As a small non-profit we rely heavily on the help of our volunteers, and they always rise to the occasion. There’’s something to interest just about anyone willing to volunteer their time with the Foundation. Here are few ways that volunteers help out. BMF Tribute Library by Spectrasonics

Spectrasonics has released The Bob Moog Tribute Library, a multi-faceted tribute to honor the legacy of synthesizer pioneer Dr. Robert Moog. The library features over 800 stunning new sounds for Omnisphere, Spectrasonics’ flagship synthesizer, and was produced by Eric Persing. The sounds in the new library were created by more than 40 of the world’s top synth artists, remixers, and sound designers.  100% of the proceeds of The Bob Moog Tribute Library benefit the Bob Moog Foundation.

The Foundation of Synthesis with Marc Doty and macProVideo.com

Learn The Foundation of Synthesis from synth master Marc Doty and support the educational activities of the Bob Moog Foundation all at the same time! Throughout this 6-part series, Marc demonstrates the science of sound with informative animations and hands-on demonstrations of his collection of classic synths from many different designers.  A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of these tutorials benefits the Bob Moog Foundation.

The iMini

The iMini by Arturia is an iPad application based on the Minimoog* synthesizer, one of most iconic synthesizers of all time. Based on the technology found in Arturia’s award winning Mini V software, the iMini offers a level of sound quality never before found on the iPad, as well as over 500 sounds by leading sound designers.  To support Bob Moog’s legacy, a portion of each iMini sale goes to the Bob Moog Foundation to help fund our projects.

Bandcamp

The Bob Moog Foundation is fortunate to have many talented artists donate songs and even entire albums for the benefit of the Foundation. Two of these albums are available Bandcamp and all proceeds fund the BMF.

  • OMG: Amplify by Torley. Created entirely from the Bob Moog Tribute Library and Omnisphere, Torley was the winner of the OMG-1 custom synthesizer from Spectrasonics.
  • The Rocket Wife EP by Tara Busch. The three song ethereal electronica EP created specifically for and donated to the Bob Moog Foundation. In conjunction with the release of the EP, Busch and the Foundation issued 17 stem tracks from the title track of the EP, Rocket Wife. The stem tracks are available for download here.

iTunes

Mooged-Out Asheville, Volume 1: The first Mooged Out CD that contains songs from over 16 local artists including: Your Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, Ruby Slippers, Agent 23, The Josh Phillips Folk Festival, and more! They have donated these tracks to the Bob Moog Foundation, and all proceeds directly fund our projects.

Mooged-Out Asheville, Volume 2: Continuing in the style of the first first Mooged out album, 14 Asheville bands came together to create Mooged-Out: Volume 2. Spanning musical styles ranging from rock and hip-hop to dubstep and avant electronica, the album is a dynamic showcase for the wealth of sounds inspired by Bob Moog. All proceeds from this album benefit the Bob Moog Foundation.

The Princely Hours by Erik Norlander: This song is an original all-Moog composition, both upbeat and ethereal, donated to the Bob Moog Foundation from Erik. All proceeds directly fund the Bob Moog Foundation and their projects. Take a sonic exploration of Moog-y music with our timelines of different albums featuring Moog instruments.  If something strikes your fancy and you purchase a song or an album a portion of that sale comes right back to us!

Dr. Bob’s Modular

Dr. Bob’s Modular Sample Library is a collection of sounds that combine classic vintage synthesizer technology with the latest cutting-edge sampling programs. Sounds from Dr. Bob’s Modular were sampled from a vintage modular Moog System 15 belonging to collector Dr. Howie Shen, creating a library of over 120 sounds. 50% of the proceeds of this library benefit the Bob Moog Foundation.

Dr. Bob’s Collector Pack

Dr. Bob’s Collector Pack includes two of Arturia’s award-winning software instruments, the Minimoog-V and the Moog Modular-V at a groundbreaking price.  It also offers a unique glimpse into Bob Moog’s life, by including an exclusive book of private archives from the Bob Moog Foundation and a DVD documentary.  Profits benefit the Bob Moog Foundation. **This is no longer available**

Includes the sounds of all the most sought-after vintage and modern Moog™ synthesizers spanning the entire Moog history, in an easy to use, sample-based virtual instrument “powered by SampleTank” available as a plug-in for the most popular DAWs and a standalone application for Mac and PC.

GoodSearch

GoodSearch allows you to contribute to a non-profit of your choice (The Bob Moog Foundation!) simply by using their GoodSearch search engine, powered by Yahoo!, to browse the internet. Each time your search for something they will contribute a penny to the cause, and allow you to track how much your searches have donated. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but every penny counts, and every search adds up! For instance, if 50 people completed 100 searches using GoodSearch The Foundation would receive enough funding for five children to complete the Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool curriculum. All you have to do is make GoodSearch your home page or download the GoodSearch toolbar. Search away! GoodDining allows you to contribute up to 6% of your bill to The Bob Moog Foundation by dining at over 10,000 participating restaurants nationwide without member’s cards or fees. You simply need to register the credit card you use when dining out on their secure server and continue going out to eat! GoodShop provides coupons and savings at major websites and will donate a percentage of your purchase back to The Foundation. You can shop at more than 2,600 top online retailers and pay the same price as you normally would, but a donation goes to us!
