In recent years, the BMF has increasingly touched the lives and minds of young people interested in electronic sounds, as well as preserving her father’s legacy for current and future generations to enjoy and draw inspiration from via the Moogseum located in Asheville, North Carolina, USA.
Executive Director, Michelle Moog-Koussa talks with Rob Puricelli live on Pro Synth Network about the various projects at the Bob Moog Foundation, the Moogseum and the forthcoming documentary Electronic Voyager.
The Moogseum in downtown Asheville explores the legacy of legendary musical innovator Bob Moog, inventor of the Moog Synthesizer and other sonic achievements.
Chances are, one of your favorite tracks features a Moog synthesizer. In fact, if you’ve watched the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, you heard Moog synthesizers all over the soundtrack. Without this innovation in sound, music wouldn’t be what we know and love today. And the person we have to thank is Bob Moog.
For three days in mid-August, dozens of synthusiasts gathered in Asheville, North Carolina, to celebrate the grand opening of the Moogseum, a museum dedicated to Bob Moog’s life and accomplishments.
