The Bob Moog Foundation is excited to announce that award-winning composer, musician, and producer Andrew Colyer will be demonstrating Spectrasonics’ Bob Moog Tribute Library v2 at the ILIO booth, #10102, every day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the 2024 NAMM Show. The Bob Moog Tribute Library was created by Spectrasonics as a benefit to the Bob Moog Foundation. One hundred percent of all sales are donated to empower the Foundation’s important work in inspiring people of all ages through science, music, technology, and innovation. Colyer will demonstrate the library for 30 minutes at each time.
The Bob Moog Tribute Library v2 features over 400 new sound sources, producing over 1,300 patches, provided by over 50 amazing artists including Hans Zimmer, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vince Clark, Bernie Worell, Jan Hammer, The Crystal Method, Keith Shocklee, Patrick Moraz, Eddie Jobson, The Moog Cookbook, Larry Fast, Money Mark, and many more. The sound sources were developed using highly creative processing techniques with exotic gear like Hans Zimmer’s massive Modular Moog (including 1027 round-robin Moog Drum samples), Eric Persing’s one-of-a-kind OMG-1, rare Buchla Modulars, and Jean Michel Jarre’s EMS Synthi AKS. With so many different world-class artists contributing, the library is exceptionally rich and varied in style and filled with inspiring, cutting-edge sounds
Andrew Colyer has played piano, keyboards, and trumpet, and sung across the United States, England, Canada, and Japan, including three times at Carnegie Hall. His classical training includes the Juilliard School, and his teaching lineage places him five steps down from Beethoven. Since 2012, Colyer has toured the U.S. and Canada as the backup/sub on keys and vocals for The Tubes. Since 2014, he has continued to lead his own rock band, Circuline, with streaming in 42 countries, physical merchandise sales in 23 countries, and touring internationally across the United States and the United Kingdom. As a member of Robert Berry’s 3.2 band, Colyer toured Keith Emerson’s Billboard-charting albums across North America in 2019 and 2022.
During the demonstrations, Colyer will be delving into the timeless nature of the library, and the rich array of sonic offerings included in it. “Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere is arguably the best software synthesizer in the world, and the Bob Moog Tribute Library is an inspiration, collaboration, and creativity tool that every musician and composer should have as part of their classic and contemporary palette of sounds for today’s creative environment,” notes Andrew Colyer.
