The Bob Moog Foundation journeyed to the West Coast last month, visiting with old friends and making new ones at our inaugural fundraiser: a candlelit dinner at Michael Boddicker’s residence in Encino followed by music from a knockout all-star house band we still can’t believe came together for our event (huge thanks to our musical director, synth maestro CJ Vanston, for making that happen!)
Here’s a special insider’s view of our Ignite Gala, which also included a silent auction of synths and gear, our Innovator’s Corner spotlighting new inventions in music technology, and gorgeous vintage synths from Michael Boddicker’s own private home collection, which were set up for attendees to play.
We should like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the stellar musicians of our magnificent house band (CJ Vanston, Steve Porcaro, Leland Sklar, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Joe Pusateri, Joseph Williams, Andy Giles, Tony Vallenziano, and Michael Gough), to our gracious hosts Michael and Edie Lehmann Boddicker, to the technicians of our Innovator’s Corner which featured Jambé electronic percussion instruments, Vo, LLC, and Center Point Studio) the outstanding manufacturers who generously donated instruments and gear to our silent auction, and especially to the musicians, industry professionals, and music technology enthusiasts who supported Bob’s legacy by sharing a magical evening in California with us.
We’d like to give a special shout out to our generous silent auction donors: Blue Microphones, Casio, Dave Smith Instruments, Guitar Center, JBL Professional, Line 6, Novation, PreSonus, Sennheiser, Shure, Spectrasonics, Synthology, and Yamaha.
We now plan to expand Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool into the Los Angeles area… See you again soon, L.A. supporters!
We love L.A.!
