Museum exhibit opens in Ithaca, NY; traces evolution of Moog Factory
On May 2, 2014, The History Center in Tompkins County honored its region as the birthplace of an instrument that revolutionized music with Switched-On: The Birth of the Moog Synthesizer. Featuring a variety of rare materials, Switched-On shared some of Bob’s earliest theremins and synthesizers, plus family photographs never before on public display and oral histories from legendary participants in the early days of the Moog legacy.
The exhibit lends a unique perspective to Bob’s life and work between the years of 1957-1971, when he lived in the Ithaca area, building the instruments that would change music forever.
