Bob Moog Foundation Hosts a Virtual Listening Party of the Historic Abominatron Tapes to Bid Farewell to the Moog Prototype

The historic Abominatron tape is the audio recording originally sent to Herb Deutsch from Bob Moog in 1965, in which Bob explains in his own voice, every parameter of the Moog synthesizer prototype. The 84-minute reel-to-reel tape was donated to the Bob Moog Foundation Archives by Herb Deutsch, and has been carefully restored and transferred to digital format by Seva.

Like most older electronic musicians, I recognize Bob Moog’s contributions to the path my life has taken. Without Bob, it’s unlikely that synthesizers would have become such an important element of popular music during my formative years.

New Lisa Bella Donna Album “Moogmentum” to Benefit the Bob Moog Foundation

The Bob Moog Foundation is thrilled to announce the realease of Moogmentum, a new dynamic, elegant, and emotional synthesizer-based album from internationally acclaimed recording artist, composer, modular synthesist, sound designer, educator, and clinician Lisa Bella Donna. The album will be released Saturday, August 21, 2021 in a collaboration between the Foundation and record label Behind The Sky Music, and will benefit the Bob Moog Foundation which is celebrating its 15th anniversary and the second anniversary of opening the Moogseum.
